Future Decoded 2017
The Future was decoded in a true sense at Microsoft #FutureDecoded2017 conference held on 21st and 22nd of February. The 2-day event was divided into two tracks – Technology(Day 1) and Management(Day 2). While the technology track was about ‘What’ technology an organization should adopt to digitally transform its future, the management track was about ‘How’ to make digital transformation a reality in any organization.
The Star-studded extravaganza saw eminent personalities from the worlds of technology, business, politics, and sports. We heard, Satya Nadella (CEO,Microsoft), Guenter Butschek (MD, Tata Motors Ltd), Norm Judah (CTO, Microsoft Services), Devendra Fadnavis (CM Maharashtra) and shuttler P. Gopichand, to name a few. It was a privilege and personal honour to learn about the transformation journey of new Andhra Pradesh, straight from the Head of the State. Altogether, there were over 80 sessions, 15 key note, 54 product and solution showcase and 26 Microsoft partners displaying their solutions, Startup Café and Azure certifications.
On day 1, Norm Judah, provided a clear articulation of the journey to transforming business, employees, operations and products and services. He also highlighted the value of connecting data from disparate sources and building a core competency in algorithmic thinking.
Tata motors Ltd. attracted eyeballs to the Expo stands where we showcased our first concept car under the banner of TAMO to indicate the partnership of TML and Microsoft.
Day 2 started with Chugge Khan and Naved Khan duet performance demonstrating virtual reality. Going forward, the Microsoft chief, Satya Nadella, spoke about empowering a Digital India with products designed for India. He announced new offerings like Skype Lite – a mobile-only application that allows communication and collaboration over low-bandwidth networks and will have Aadhar integration by June 2017. He also spoke about Project Sangam, a blended learning platform that brings together Microsoft's Massively Empowered Classroom framework, cloud technologies and LinkedIn's job search capabilities to create a life-long skilling platform for Indian workers.
Sangita Reddy, Joint MD, Apollo Hospitals spoke of how the transformation of today's consumers is translating to digital transformation of healthcare and leading to future that will be completely re-imagined.
The day which saw more than 450 CXOs, was concluded by the shuttler Pullela Gopichand who spoke on how a growth mindset empowers Indian players and coaches to achieve excellence and in-turn assists in fostering leadership.
In the end, the conference gave an enlightening opportunity by inviting demonstration of various technologies ranging from IoT, virtual reality, augmented reality, smart manufacturing, start-ups, and various other Microsoft products. The sessions on container technology and end-to-end analytics on azure platform will help one to explore more and more opportunities and use-cases on the Azure Platform.
